On Friday, September 6th, 2013, a tripartite collaboration of Oriental Heritage Without Borders e.V., Andischeh e.V. and Iranische Gemeinde in Deutschland e.V. together with Goethe Institute held a ceremony in honour of the 2013 recipient of the Goethe Medal, Mr Mahmoud Hosseini Zad, at Rathaus Charlottenburg in Berlin with the attendance of many guests from both the Iranian and German communities and of various disciplines.
The event was held in both the Persian and German languages and began with a brief introduction of the acclaimed Iranian author and translator, and consisted of a reading session by the author himself together with a critical review of his profound written works and sensitive literary translations and subsequently followed by a discussion round with the participants of the meeting.
Finally, at the end of the programme and as a small token of gratitude, a commemorative inscription was awarded to Mr Hosseini Zad on behalf of the three organizers for his great contribution towards the enhancement and the development of intercultural dialogue and understanding between the two nations of Iran and Germany which was warmly welcomed and greeted with heartfelt applause by all the guests.
